Heart to stamp
Today it was the turn of the Heart to Stamp challenge, I am trying to use up my last of the dashing paper from last year and the last of the ski slope paper from this year both from stampin up, and also used my trusty 'season of joy' stamp set also by stampin up, in my frantic attempt to finish off my xmas cards. This was a nice easy but effective layout so I did 2.

Encouraging news
Life has had a few ups and downs at the moment. One thing to be truly grateful for is my wonderful hubby who takes a beating from me all the time LOL. (Not literally), he has discovered a love of being Jamie Oliver which I am encouraging as much is humanly possible so I dont have to cook. My kids are great and I am thankful that I dont have the worries that so many of my friends do. Ashley my middle son at 18 is the only one that causes me some worries but thats me not him. He is in the navy and doing very well studying hard, drinking hard and smoking like a chimney, a typical navy man. Ryan my eldest at very nearly 20 is a nurse and doesnt drink much and doesnt smoke, is considerate but very messy......My little girl who turned 15 last week is no trouble at all and sometimes that worries me, she doesnt go out at night but hangs out with her best friend all the time. I know silly for being worried about nothing eh.
Me i am weathering along at the moment, new MRI has revealed another lesion on my spine, but no new ones in the brain. Bit pissed but then thats life. I have been reading about a new procedure to do with blocked drainage veins in the neck, which when unblocked have given significant relief to MS sufferers, and the italian doc doing the research (who has a wife with MS), has been very excited about the results and after testing all the patients at the hosiptal with neurological problems including MS only the MS pts had these blockages and 100% of them at that. To many to be coincidence. He also followed up with testing of many more too. I have decided to go to my GP next week and see if he can get me the ultrasound of my neck to see if the veins are blocked at least, before my appt with my neuro. Australia seems to be a bit behind on new procedures and as America has only just started considering this, I fancy it could be a while til it reaches our shores. So If I have to I will pay for the ultrasound to see.
The weather is very hot at the moment and I have even been in the pool a couple of times woo hoo. Well thats my info for now, sometimes I like to write it down as I dont like to burden my thoughts on the people around me and most aren't interested anyway. Sometimes its very lonely in my little world.

Mercy Challenge
I have some real problems this week with my designs. I cant seem to put together colours or papers arrrgghhhh its so annoying. I have made some cards that are BORING and not worth blogging as far as I am concerned. I have managed to make a card for the Mercy challenge (link to the right) which I am happy with and only 2 colours involved LOL and one is white double LOL. What can go wrong.

Play date cafe challenge 1
Another day another challenge or 2. This first one was for the Play date cafe challenge whose link is on the right. I didn't manage to use any black mainly cause I have run out LOL. Have to admit that I am not overally happy with it although it is much better in the flesh this one and today has been a rather dull day for photographing.

My entry for this weeks challenge, it is actually my 2nd attempt, I hated the first, I was trying to go outside of my box and it didnt work LOL. In my pile of rejects it goes. Anyway I used the 'Trendy Tree' stamp set and card/paper from stampin up. I crimped some cardstock and used some random lace I had, I added the trees because it looked a bit bare.

As the weather has been appalling for this public holiday weekend (although we are glad of the rain), I have been very industrious in my card making. I think I have made about 7 or 8 which is really good for me LOL. I am not overally happy with them all but think its good to share different ones for all to see. They are all very 'laid' out if you know what I mean. Well enjoy (I hope).

Some Cards
I have been a little more motivated in the cardmaking dept this week, managed a few xmas cards and am really liking the 'Great friends' stamp set from stamin up. I pinched a layout from my good friend and stampin up demonstrator Linda Higgins (who I now consider a friend first). Plagiarism is cool LOL. Anyway here are my efforts for you to look at. I have used the ski slope designer papers in these cards and the Tree Trimmings stamp set too.

Another entry this week, I am impressed with myself for being so motivated LOL. I did enjoy this weeks challenge (as they always are) I do stuggle with what sometimes seems like a lot of layers. If any of the sharp ones of you look you will notice I have used the same paper as last week, I am loving these colours. The paper is from stampin up as is stamps and ink, The tree and sentiment is from the 'season of joy' stamp set and the scallped thingy (only word I can think of) which I have stamped the sentiment into is from the 'Great friend) set, I love this for cutting and having some extra angles for the sentiments to go into. God dont ask me the colours, with scraps here and there I have no idea LOL. It took me almost 2 hours to do as I am a slow and painful card maker. Oh well, I am pleased with the card though and thats all that matters.
