Play Date Cafe

Ok I know some people of commented on my use of butterflies, but sometimes they just fit!! and I do so love them. Not sure if you are like me but I go in roundabouts, one week its butterflies then boats then something else. I kept this card very simple but am happy with it. I dont think I will add a sentiment as it would spoil the look in my opinion. I used a plain white card and stamped the upsy daisy image from stampin up on some whisper white. I mounted this on black card stock and then elegant eggplant. I used free hand and my stampin up marker of elegant eggplant to do mock stitching around as a border. To finish I stamped my trusty butterfly from great friends and cut it out. mounted it using dimentionals and finished it of with some pearls.

Just add Ink plus Sweet sunday Challenge

I loved the sketch from sweet sunday this week, and with the Just add Ink flower for inspiration I had the perfect card in mind. I had cut out this image from a birthday card many moons ago and I have been looking for the perfect challenge and these two just were abso perfect. The bear is so adorable and he looks like it really should be a sorry card decided to make the sentiment slightly more uplifting but at the same time usable for many occasion. I am really chuffed with it.

Inkspiration Challenge

Its been a while since I have had a go at this challenge. Today was a layout sketch and I felt drawn to it. I used my cottage garden stamp set from Stampin Up and some DS papers from last year. I decided to use the tag instead of a circle.

CPS and Colour Q

I have used both these challenges for my inspiration today. I am glad for a simple layout as my brain isnt firing on all cylinders. Although I used the CPS sketch challenge I am not sure if it completely qualifies as I turned it round and used 3 full circles. I used my 'Great Friends' stamp set for this one. And the sentiment is from the upsy dasiy set.

Sweet Stop Sketch and Our Creative Corner recipe challenge

Well here I go again with another combo..........to easy. I interpreted that we could use any 3 colours as long as they were in a row. Hopefully that's right. I am loving the blue and purples together, not something I would normally do but I might a bit more now. The sweet stop sketch, another lovely layout but bows really arent my thing, I hardly use ribbon on my card these days and even rarer for a bow. I tried I really did even had a nice tag made, but I just couldnt bring myself to put it on, to me it ruined the whole look. I just had to leave it off, I hope this is ok. Maybe I should do a with tag photo too and let you decide lol. Well I have updated my card and have included a new photo with tag.

Any way, I used a butterfly stamp which I have had forever but not used (well not that I recall) and my colouring skills are really not up to much but I had a go using my water colour pencils from stamping up. The card stock is razzelberry and pale plum, with some corresponding DS papers from last year.

Anyways the links

Play date cafe and Clean and Simple

another combo, 2nd today. I used the Play Date Colour challenge along with the Clean & Simple challenge. I used the balloon from 'party this way' and 'pun fun' stamp sets from stampin up. Not my usual colour combo, but I am happy with it.

Colour Q and Sweet Sunday Sketch

Its been a while since I have done the Sweet Sunday Sketch, so I decided today was the day. I coupled it with the Colour Q challenge. I used the Embrace Life stamp set from stampin Up, I stamped this onto some textured paper which was the closest I had to poppy parade, I used white ink for this and cut them out. I dressed them up with some pearls. I am not sure if the green I used was always artichoke but its pretty damned close.

The sweet stop sketch challenge

Ok i failed a bit on this challenge as I did not do the twist of embossing....sigh. I just loved the sketch so I though I would still blog my effort. I yet again used the love letter DS paper and the Artistic etchings stamp set both from stampin up.

Waltzing Mouse Challenge

I loved this design this week and although I didnt follow it to the letter I am very pleased with the way it came out, great way to use up some scraps too. I used the Love Letter DS paper from stampin up (which I adore) and used my heart shaped punch to make the row of hearts.

Colour Q

I thought I would have a go at the challenge this week. I like it sort of, I wish I had mounted it on dimensional s to give it more depth but didnt and I cant get it off to do now. Very frustrating. It looks a bit flat. I used the Skipping Stone Design as a layout base but will do another card for that challenge.

Colour Q challenge is HERE.

Play Date Cafe and Card Pattern Challenge

I thought I would have a go at the challenge this week along with the recipe from 'The Play Date Cafe'. I used the leaf stamp from the vintage vogue set from stampin up to make the background for the blue card stock. I had made a card with my demonstrator Linda Higgins earlier in the week and I really liked the image, it was on a smaller card and I just had to use it as it fitted so perfectly with the recipe, so I liberated it from that card lol, cut it into an oval, re mounted it and put some lace behind it before fitting it to the card. I have to say I really like this card very much and I know its not good to say that about your own stuff but I just love blues and browns together.
