Just a brief post today as time is short, such a shame that work gets in the way of my craft time.  Very rude....

Card Concept, Dynamic Duo and Deconstructed Sketch

Wowser, 3 challenges in one.  Something I don't do very often, gotta milk the challenges out.  But this one just happened to fall together with the 3.  I felt a little challenged with the 3 colours over at the Dynamic Duo Blog and wanted to have a go.  I found this scrap of DS paper from last year that was just perfect for the colour combo and I do so love using a scrap up.

The sketch is from The Deconstruction Sketch which is one I try to do as often as I can, they can be a little challenging but this weeks was nice and simple and with these bright colours suited it perfectly.  I stumbled upon another challenge Blog this week (yeah)  this one is the Card Concept which takes and image and the designers do cards using different styles.  I am not sure what style I slot into for this one but I think maybe Clean and Layering.

This card was made using the following products from Stampin Up

Card - Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango and Pear Pazzaz (substitute for Wild Wasabi) and watercolour card
Stamp - Peaceful Petals, Simply Sketched (hostess)
Ink - Pear Pazzaz, Melon Mambo
Punch - Banner (Sale-a-bration)
Aqua pens and blender pens
Pearls

MoJo Monday

Sorry I haven't been onto blog lately, time sometimes just runs away with you and the next thing you know another week has gone by.  But This is the first of 3 blogs I am going to be making today, I have been a busy bee.  Of course I have used the trusty old Retro Fresh theme for 2 of them.  I have given up trying to fight the urge and have resigned myself to using these papers and thinlits until I run out of the papers.  Good job I have ordered another pack and I think I will possibly end up buying a couple more to keep me going when the catty runs out.  One good thing to come out of it is my ever increasing pile of male cards.  They will all be 'going retro' for their birthdays this year and probably then next few he he.

One thing  I haven't mentioned before is if you see my side bar with the Links menu, this is a selection of challenges I use for inspiration.  If you want to have a go yourself just click on any of the links and you will be taken to the blog.  This also my first time using Washi Tape, yep thats right I haven't got onto that band wagon til today lol.  Verdict, I like it...

So without further delay.  This card was made using the sketch over a Mojo Monday (one of my fav challenges).

for this card I used the following products from Stampin Up

Card  - Baked Brown Sugar, Tangerine Tango, So Saffron, Coastal Cabana
Washi Tape - Retro Fresh
Square Lattice embossing folder
Stamp - Say What
Punches - Postage Stamp, 1" circle , 3/4" circle
Framelit - Word Bubbles, star and arrow from label and circle thinlit collection
Button and Twine from stash

Card - Crisp Cantaloupe, Very Vanilla and So Saffron
Ink - Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar

Seize the Sketch and Colour Throwdown

Today is a little overcast so I feel justified in staying in my craft room for the day, at least that's what I keep telling myself.  Of course I don't really need an excuse but having one makes ME feel better lol.

So for this card I decided to use the Colour Throwdown colour combo.  I flaffed around trying to decide what to do and thats when I decided to use the Sketch over at the Seize the Sketch blog.  Without intending too but kinda swaying in that direction I realised the design was also perfect for The Paper Players challenge but I was to late for this one lol.

To get the embossing affect all the way down the page I just lined up the folder and moved it.  Little tip only wind it through the big shot enough to go over the folder then wind it back or it flattens the first line of the previous embossing (make sense) you may have to practice to get it how you like it.

The light is not great today so I really struggled to get the photo to show the colours properly grrrrr.

This card was made using the following products from Stampin Up

Card - Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White, Crumb Cake
Ink - Pretty in Pink (sub), Real Red, Crumb Cake, Pistachio Pudding
Punch - Create a cup cake, Banner (sale-a-bration), Decorative Label
Stamps - Create a Cup Cake and Banner Blast and Itty Bitty Banner
DS Paper - Fresh Print stack
Embossing folder Adorning Accents (hearts)
Bitty Bannner framelit.

Freshly Made Sketches

I know I know it's the RETRO paper again...........I NEED HELP....  Even though its been a great sunny day her in Aussie land I have been feeling the craft so have spent most of the day in my craft room (AKA 'the garage').  Hubs was in bed as he is on night shift, no kids around so me me me time.  Oh look there is me in time too.... he he he.

Retro Sketch

So I am submitting this to Retro Sketches by the skin of my teeth.  I told you I cant go past the Retro Paper from the new seasonal catty.  I do try lol.  Anyway have a large stash of male cards mounting.  Something I have never had before so not a bad thing.  I have taken to cutting out a few shapes when I am using the thinlits just because I seem to be using them all the time and it seems a waste to run it through the big shot without cutting a few things out at the same time.  Snail works best for these little shapes.  I love mounting them with dimentionals too but this can be a little fiddly as you have to cut the dimentionals to size, but I think well worth the effort for the look it gives.  I haven't done that on this card but have raised the circles instead.

So for this card I have used the following products from Stampin Up

Card - Coastal Cabana, So Saffon, Tangerine Tango, Baked Brown Sugar
DS Paper - Retro Fresh (new seasonal catty)
1" circle punch, Postage stamp punch, banner punch (and one of the co-ordinating stamps both from the Sale-a-bration rewards)
Thinlits from both the flip card sets.
Some twine from the Sale-a-bration freebie set.
