Global Design Project #GDP238

I started off making one card for the challenge at 'Global design project'. I knew straight away what I wanted to do to make the ombre effect. But then I got carried away and made 4. I used the retired set Myths and Magic', and the long framelit out of the ornate garden suite which is the perfect width. It was a fantastic way to use up scraps of card.

To make the sparkling sentiments I used my stamparatus and marker pens to colour the stamp, I did it one colour at a time until I was happy, I then cleaned the stamp while it was still attached, dusted over with embossing buddy  and used versa mark with some homemade sparkle clear embossing powder.  From memory I used 4 parts clear to 1 part dazzling diamonds.

Thanks for Looking.

Colour Inkspiration Challenge #64

If you are hopping along you would have come my blog via Julie Quinn and her fabulous creation.  This week I am a guest designer for the Inkspiration #64 colour challenge because I was voted the winner in Challenge #62.  I am super excited to share with you my card using the colours for Challenge #CI64.

This was the image and colours we were given to work with.  I think I scored a lucky week.  Unfortunately I don't have the ink pad for Purple Posy yet due to the quality delays, but I do have the cardstock so I used that in my project.

I decided to use the Banded Together bundle in my project today, I hadn't yet inked it up and it was long overdue.

I used the Highland Heather card for the base.  I then clear embossed a piece of Purple Posy which gave it a lovely shimmery affect.  I then used the largest Stitched Rectangle to cut it out.  I love the stitched affect it gives.  I had some left over ribbon from sale-a-bration which I tied round before adhering it to the base.

I stamped the flower image with highland Heather onto some watercolour card and using my aqua painter and Highland Heather ink pad to water colour the flower and then did the same with the leaves and Garden Green ink.  I fussy cut them out as I wanted them to be cut without a border.

I used silver foil card and the largest decorative framelit from the bundle to make the pretty frame and using whisper white card I cut out an oval stitched framelit.  I stamped the little Hello sentiment on to the oval and using a scrap of Garden Green cardstock I cut a little banner using the triple banner punch which I adhered behind the oval before mounting it onto the decorative frame using dimentionals.  I also adhered the flower and leaves onto the oval using tape and dimentionals before mounting the whole thing onto the base card.

Now it's time to hop to the next on the list Bronwyn Eastley and see her fabulous creation.

Inksomniacs Blog Hop - Beautiful Friendship

Wow I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve blogged.  I tend to use my Facebook page.  So this week we’ve been challenging ourselves to do ‘#simplestamping .  This means that we can only use card stock, a stamp set and ink.  That’s it.  Nothing else.

I decide to use the ‘beautiful friendship’ set.  I love this set it's great for quick and easy cards.  I'm loving this colour combination of Mint Macaroon, Gray granite and Soft Suede.

I cut first stamped the large flower in Mint macaroon and used soft suede for the stamens.  I then stamped the hydrangea (?) flower around to fill the gaps using gray granite ink.  I then also used the same stamp to add texture to the small strip of mint macaroon card that I used on the right.  i then stamped the leaves using soft suede.   I added a small strip of grey granite under the mint macaroon card,.  I adhered the strips to the right of the image and then stamped the sentiment in the top right hand side  This was then adhered to the base card stock.  This card took me less than 10 mins to make.  To jump to the next blog which is Lorraine Sonnberg

Lovely Lattice

Having a play with the new Lovely Lattice stamp set which can be yours free with a $90 order during the annual Sale-a-bration period.  This runs from 3rd Jan - 31st March.   AND any new stamps from now on will be cling stamps.  What does this mean.  These stamps cling to EVERYTHING.  The don't fall off your blocks, in fact for the thinner stamps you need to take extra care so they don't tear taking them off they are that clingy.  They are awesome.

I first white embossed the image on a piece of Crumb cake and then coloured it using blends.  I Layered it onto a Ctrumb cake base and used the Gel pen to put some faux stitches around the outside.  Super Simple.

For this card I used the following products from Stampin Up.

Global Design Project

Today's card was inspired by the challenge over at the Global Design Project.  This week it was Case the Designer and here is the card we had to use for our inspiration by the talanted Allison Okamitsu.  I decided to use the layout.

I wanted to use the Truly Tailored DS papers which is retiring this month.  I really love these colours together.  It will be sad to say goodbye.  Below is the card I came up with.

I fussy cut the adorable little bows from the paper

I used the following products from Stampin Up to make this card.
